Toddler Friendly Kale Smoothie

by - 11:39 AM

There's a juice and smoothie shop by our house that makes the Most Delicious kale smoothie.

However there's a couple things wrong with it, the first being its made with a pineapple yoghurt , (I'm allergic to dairy) and the second being its $9 I just can't justify spending that much on a smoothie I could make myself.

So I watched them make it one day and took note of the ingredients and after a little trial and error and replacing the yoghurt with a ripe banana I do believe I've made it even better. Actually I know I made it better, and the best part is I can make a weeks work of smoothies for just a few dollars more than just one smoothie from the juice shop!

The Ingredients:

Two handfuls of organic kale

About 5-7 pieces of chopped pineapple

One very ripe banana (the riper the better for sweetness)

And about 3/4 a cup of papaya nectar (add more or less to taste)
Note: this papaya nectar can be found in most grocery stores in the non refrigerated juice section.

Instructions:
Add all ingredients into your blender and blend until juice like in texture. Then add ice and blend again until you've reached a smoothie consistency.
(Because this is kind of a thick smoothie make sure that however your blender is set up, that you add the ingredients to blend in this order; Kale, banana, then pineapple. It will make blending much smoother!)

And there you have it. A delicious, sweet and oh so healthy smoothie, perfect as the weather starts warming up!

Theo absolutely LOVES this smoothie, it's getting to the point where I'm going to have to start making him his own if I want to have some too HAHA
So if you have kiddos, whip one of these up and let them try it out!

Enjoy!!
